The function of your hearing aid is essential to your ability to maintain a high quality of life. While the function and design of hearing aids have advanced greatly over the years, they do still occasionally malfunction, especially if they aren’t cleaned or maintained properly. Fortunately, if anything goes wrong with your hearing aid, you can simply bring it into The Hearing Group to have it repaired.
How to Tell if Your Hearing Aid Needs Repair
If your hearing aid has stopped functioning or is having issues, then check the following:
Make sure the battery was properly inserted.
Inspect the battery. Test the battery.
Make sure the hearing aid is clean. If it hasn’t been cleaned in a while, wax buildup may be affecting its function.
Check the volume settings.
Check the microphone or earmolds to make sure they’re not blocked.
Inspect the tubing. If the tubing is blocked or bent, then it needs to be replaced, which we can do.
Check the wax guard and dome
Make sure the hearing aid is not in t- coil mode
If none of these issues are behind the problem, then we can inspect your hearing aid for you to determine what the source of the problem is and make the necessary repairs.
